Beth (Bethofvt) Had a very long post done and after posting saw a correction I wanted to make. Deleted the post thinking that I had it on Notepad as I usually do but did not! I had typed each and every question on the SS form that was asked which would be all info that SS would need.

Suffice it to say that if you missed my very first post about applying for SS which kicked the conversation off, I applied LAST WEEK and there was 'no extra level of security' where the subcontractor was asking me about car loans, education level, or any of the questions you say you where asked in order to fill out the SS application. You tried to apply post Jan 2013 and I applied post Jan 2013 - within a couple of weeks of each other. And yes, I did scan that article that you linked to.

Maybe you just are not reading my posts that you don't realize that everything went smooth as silk for me last week and that I was not asked any of those questions. Sorry that you had problems but it was easy as pie for me and once again, this was last week.

After I was done with the quick and easy form, I printed it out as suggested. That is what I had typed out. All the questions that they do ask and not one was even remotely related to what you say you were asked. And as soon as I went to the SS site I was able to begin by entering my name and SS number, address, email, and then on to birth date, birth place etc.

Bob My reference to credit reports was that those questions sound more like something someone pulling your credit report would find out about you or that a credit report or data collection agency would either ask or know about you. Not a very high level of security imo. Asking your mother's maiden name would provide more security imo LOL.
