Had an interesting thing happen this morning. Sold a book with the address listed as Canada. Sent the invoice as flat rate envelope at the Canadian price. Thought it was an odd book to not only sell to Canada since it was about a town in Tennesee but odder still was that the name of the buyer was Asian. When the Paypal payment came in the book was going to South Korea!! DH and I debated sending another invoice for the additional $5 to send it to South Korea especially since the book was only $15 and that $5.00 really eats into the 'profit.' But after looking at how long the book had been sitting on the shelf decided that $10 in hand was better than taking the chance that the buyer would ask to cancel the transaction. When we checked the shipping address again on ebay it had been changed to South Korea also. By the looks of the address it might be a doctor who is thinking of accepting a position in the town and wants to read the 100+ history of the area.
Speaking of doctors going into small rural areas reminded me to the doctor who delivered both my sons. We were both at the wedding of the son of mutual friends. He retired a number of years ago from practice here but makes trips to rural areas in Georgia to deliver babies.
Another interesting buyer that I have had twice is one who uses an ID in Italy and then emails and asks if I will ship to China. As many know, China is now on the list of approx 9-12 countries that can not longer buy books and other media items on ebay. He must have a friend in Italy who lets him his ID to buy.
