Merry Christmas! No snow here!

Visited with two families with children/grandchildren yesterday. Best line all day - Me asking 10yr old 5th grader girl -
What books do you like to read or who is the author you are reading now. Some thought and then..... Tolkein. Yes, she's
read The Hobbit.

Our tree was never decorated until Christmas Eve day and it wasn't taken down til after Jan. 6th (Little Christmas). My sister and I also got one "large" item - special doll, bike, etc, and some clothing or if needed a new coat -- and always at least one book. We got toys and games and paper dolls from grandparents and other family members.

My favorite Christmas memory was the Christmas dinner at our house each year. This included grandparents and aunts and uncles and great-aunts and uncles. We must have had 18 adults with all the leaves in the dining table and the children's table in the adjacent living room.

I'm off to a Chinese restaurant lunch with my daughter and her boyfriend.
