I’ve loved mystery books, crime fiction, and true crime. Spent a lot of time reading Ann Rule and Jonathan Kellerman and Patricia Cornwell….and then at some point I realized, at least for me, it had all gotten too gruesome. Seems they were all trying to out-gross the other. Make the murder more torturous, lurid, preverted than the next. I said ”Stop! I don’t want this in my brain anymore.”
Went to reading all the ”Cat” books by Lillian Jackson Braun. Then I went through about 40 Robert B Parker ”Spencer” novels. Tried a couple of other authors but found they were back to chopping hands off and stuff, so I thought ”Drat, what now?”
Well, I found Agathie Christie and Hercule Poirot and I’ve loved every minute of it. Nearly finished with all the books. Where do you suggest I go from here?
