By the time the spring thaw came, all the 'good nutrients' would be in the soil, he could rake the rest to put into his compost heap and he'd be ready for a record harvest [to feed the bunnies]. And if there was a serious blizzard and the power went out and he ran out of fire wood, he could dig through the snow and use the patties in the fire place!
