Afternoon all...................gorgeous very warm day here.
JIM: Yes, sister and I prefer the promenade deck too.... books, puzzles, smelling the salt air, feeling the breezes and some shade.
We are also walkers. That new ship's promenade deck was only about 5 ft. wide and at the bow, it narrowed to about 2 ft. Very tight and uncomfy...not conducive to exercizing...or just strolling. Didn't get in one walk the whole cruise except what we did on shore.
We cruise to get away, to disconnect, don't do all the "pool parties and drinking and swimming and you couldn't get me in a hot tub. I haven't owned a bathing suit in 20 years.... I truly believe lots of the outbreaks of illness on board comes from the pools/tubs. JMO.
We aren't bingo, trivia, etc enthusiasts, nor up for the big shows. Nice jazz piano/combo is great but no big productions. Guess we are just a bit "weird" - but we pay our money and we got to "get AWAY" and just enjoy each other's company.... some ports we even skip shore excursions, cause ship "empties" and you can find little hideaway places to read, etc. Yes, kinda anti-social I guess....but it's our choice.
