WE had an exciting start to our week. Sunday afternoon my DH was going to turn on the water outside to water some plants and he must have disturbed a bee's nest. They attacked, he ran, tripped over a hose and fell trying to get away. He fell onto a small cement garden wall and face-planted. He ended up with bad gouges on one hand, bruised ribs, scrapes on his arms and face. We went to urgent care to make sure he hadn't broken anything and to be sure his tetanus etc was current. They bandaged him up, gave him some antibiotics to prevent infection (his gouges were not pleasant) and sent him home.
Fast forward to 2am. DH woke up with a rash an itching all over. No shortness of breath but the rash was spreading so I kind of forced him to go to the ER. They treated him for a reaction to the antibiotic with an epi shot, prednisone and benadryl. Then they made us wait 3 hours to make sure he didn't relapse. I spent that time sitting on a hard chair, it was not fun. Needless to say we didn't get home until after 6am. DH's hand is all bandaged up and it's difficult to do much. Even so, I'm glad he didn't get any worse, and now we have an epi pen on hand.
