    Beth,

Long days, Long Hours..Cannot remember last time I had a full day off. Today was spent rebuilding the shed that the Tornado blew off the foundation a month or so ago. A pine tree about 90 feet tall fell and swiped the shed off the pad where I keep the cable ties we sell on ebay and fell into neighbors yard.. Add that to the Spring pool cleanings and I have not come up for a breath in a while. Pollen is falling like a BLIZARD

Has it been that long since I posted??

Jim, When we lived on Golf Course in Virginia Beach we would get balls and place them in egg cartons. Usually sold for $5.00 a dozen but this was back in 1970's. I would imagine $12.00 a dozen would be cheap now.

You might try putting a few dozen out with an honor system box, since we know golfers never cheat/lie and see how that works?

Just when I thought life was getting easier I get bombshell. Aline said she found water in the Bedroom closet....Already ripped carpet out of closet, have to rip out 1/2 of wall....and then the fun part I have to gut the bathroom and put in new tiled shower, toilet and vanity

Guess my next 6-8 weekends are taken care of.....

Jim, I-75 is considered North , but with a 75 mile West swing

Be careful of Condo fees, some are meant to look like Yearly fees but are actually Monthly..

Yes I am still alive....Just have not had time to post....Any word from the BRIGUY?

I can eat anything you put in front of me except Cottage Cheese so I understand people who have a few foods they do not like. What I do not understand is my Nieces and nephews who can only eat 3-4 foods and the parents that buy into that... and cook 2-3 dinners each night for the picky eaters

    Makes no sense to me.....

We use UV Security Link Pen for all items over $50.00, shows a blue dot where we mark it.

We tell them once we get the item back with our mark we will refund. They always ask where the mark is....

the pen and light is somewhere around $8.95 at Office Depot

have NEVER had an item returned after we told them of our mark!!!!!

Since we usually have Duey (the worlds best mail man) pick up we never pay for DC, its free if you print through paypal. We have Duey on Speed Dial and if we have extras he will swing back though or I will go find him on the route if he is busy.

    Why pay more for less??

Tracking for First Class and Media Mail is FREE....But you have to go through paypal and print the postage....And then you just put the package in the mail box and the mail person picks it up.

We have not gone to the PO in 5 Years, Sure does save a ton of TIME!!!!!!

By the way we ship anywhere from 10 to 30 packages per day!!!!!

So BOB you need to re-think your shipping options

We shipped the same day he ordered, then a storm blew in over the midwest.....I mentioned the storm he said that weather was not a factor and that I did not ship in time- - - As stated we shipped the SAME day- - -and tracking shows it was received at the PO the same day...NOPE basically said we were lying!!!!

Might want to look into smaller regional help groups. Locally the SA is being targeted as a hate group and that is affecting their ability to help..

Red cross here is getting blasted but only because the family that "runs" this area is paying family members who do not even work for the red cross.

Helen, The Crawfish comes from Walmart, Its in the frozen food section for seafood. We (meaning Aline) buy 4-5 bags at a time since it is not always available...It is packaged in Louisana

Thanks for the congrats...Tons of work has gone into this number. Already have 14 packed and ready to ship tomorrow. We love that we can pack and leave either in the mail box or on the front porch and USPS will pick it up. Not great for Aline, sometimes she does not get out of the house for a week or so.

With the Pool route I get out Monday-Friday......Probably the only reason we can still get along so well....

    Nobody asked but:

We bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 back in February. It sips ink!!

We are on our 3rd cartridge, we print just about a case of paper a month. It scans and faxes. We get our daily Crossword and TV schedule printed everyday automatically. It is a wireless network printer, you can print from your I-phone - - -I do not have one but it says it can do it. We have all 3 computers hooked into it wirelessly and I tossed the other 2 printers that sucked up Ink.

And the best feature it tells you about 3 weeks ahead when you are going to run out of Ink based on your usage.... So I always have a spare ready!!!!!

Even though we are the capital of Florida the newspaper is horrible. The editor had all of his reports go to a blog format. The Sunday front section is typically 4 pages, except duringt Football season. And the US page is taken straight from the USA today Paper...

His Preacher has told him that Obama is a Muslim, Islamist radical, Socialist, Kenyan bastard, The next coming of Hitler,

    Jude,

Today is June 24th, Next TRS and PS check is July 20th - -Pour it on plenty of time to put smaller items up to keep your ranking. Over the last 5 years our ranking has dropped due to people not liking our $3.86 shipping for the first item and $1.00 for each additional.

Each time we lost TSR our sales dropped nearly in half, and we all know that Ebay does not care they just want to make sure their favorite seller (buy) leads the way...

Their 984 negatives and 1178 neutrals (over the last year) REALLY makes you confident that you want to BUY from them

The thing that got me about the book "world without end" is the brits portray themselves as such a civilized nation, when actually they are BARBARIANS.

I read Pillars of the Earth last year and then followed up with World without End ,.

I had them in the truck on CD's and listened to them as I ran the pool route. Between the 2 I think it was close to 80 CD's and took almost 2 months to finish.

Makes me happy that we got away from England...

One of my jobs at my Grandfahers farm was to run down in the morning to the filed and come back with a ripe cantelope and a ripe honey dew melon...

First they get the thonk test, then they get the smell test where they attach to the vine an then they get the push test at the attachment to the vine....

My wife is still amazed at the great melons I bring home from the store......and sometimes pass them up completely since they do not pass all the tests....

I know what you mean....Cash Registers have made people STUPID!!!

Bought 2 large Pizzas a couple of years ago. Total was $18.36, So I gave her a $20, she hands me back my Change. My change was $18.36. I said this was not correct, she gets huffy (I should have left)

She calls over the manager who says what is your problem. I try to explain and she gets her shorts in a knot. So I said to her that you are charging around 80 cents per pizza.......the clue phone rang finally and they understood.

And I said Thanks I will never come back because of your snarky attitude- - -While I was trying to help and not STEAL from you!!!!!

Which is why I have many people contact me and ask if I can do a better deal off ebay after their first order.....AND I always do. It costs ebay hundreds of dollars a year, But since my monthly ebay bill runs around $1000 I need all the help I can get.

Back when it was 8% and no fees on shipping I would tell them I would put up a special auction for them, Now I go outside ebay more and more

    Bob,

I understand why you would not want to have both since you sell singular items and would spend a ton of time cancelling items on both sites. I am mainly think about it because I have over 900 items listed on Ebay but only about 500 on Amazon. My maim concern about opening a store on Amazon is can my packing department (my wife) keep up. We have anywhere from 10 orders to 24 orders per day, we had an order the other day that had 35 individual items- - -Its alot to keep up with.

If not for my day job I could help alot more though......Anyone want to buy a pool route????

    Bob,

To set up a Amazon store is basically the same cost as the Ebay store $49.95 plus you get to set the shipping price. Amazon Charges $1.00 additional if you piggyback on another offering. That would be eliminated if you had a store. I have been selling between 5 and 10 items a week there so it maybe worthwhile to pursue. Plus I "think" the first month is free????

    Jim,

We collect sales tax on all sales in the state of Confusion/Florida. All people who buy items on line are supposed to self report the tax they were supposed to pay and pay it at the end of the year. We all know that does not happen.

But because the state can audit me I make sure that every item we "need" for the business is bought and paid for in Florida.

Had a friend who bought all of his office supplies / forms / etc out of state to save money. When he was getting audited by the state for the sales tax "HE" collected they found out about all the out of state office supplies and nailed him....Including penalities and interest going back years- - -cost him Thousands!!!!!!!!!!

The total of an order was over $360.00, considering they bought 70 items it was big . Then woke up to another order from Australia for a part for a pool at over $130.00...The rates are going to kill international sales.

A small flat rate envelope to Australia will be going up. From $16.95 to $23.95....If you are selling international you might want to look at raising your rates

When ours went to $264.00 per year up I told them I could find Bird Cage liners cheaper elsewhere. I was paying around $75.00 a year before the change]

The front section of our newspaper on a normal day was 4 pages and "maybe" got up to 8 on the weekend. It was a gannett paper so they used the USA today as the main part of national "news"

In the old days they were semi pro teams and usually had a name that was about where they were located.

Green bay was a "meat packing " town" as I understand.

    Pittsburg was Steel country.
    Houston was Oil people.
San Francisco was the Gold rush people the 49'ers
Green Bay is the Cheese Capital of the US

as the the times changed it did not mean as much to the area.
