And now for something completely different.......
My neighbor that recently lost his heating/AC unit to lightening , now reports he can't mow his lawn either. Its reason #122 as to why you DO NOT want to buy an electric lawn mower. The second he turns in on -- the "zzzzzzzzzt" whirling noise it makes, ... mimics the mating call of the cicadas! Ah ha ha ha!! Instantly at the sound, TENS OF THOUSANDS of them leap eagerly out of the trees and descend on you in a swarm that blocks out the Sun.
He reports his two teen daughters are now hiding in the basement crying and traumatized. Welcome to the suburbs, buddy.
Jim -- fast food burgers? WGN TV currently has a page on their website for -- get ready -- cicada recipes! Yep, they've got a couple for cicada burgers too. My guess is the McD's clown isn't that worried yet........
