I used to show people how to use even lighting and plain backgrounds to take a very good photo. Then one day a woman said that she preferred the photo of the hand bag taken on an unmade bed rather than the well done photo. She knew that the person had the unmade bed hand bag, and that is what it actually looked like, while the good photo looked like it might have been taken from a sales brochure.
