I joined eBay in 1998. I had been looking for a certain book in book stores and couldn't find it. I found that book on eBay, one copy listed, and got it after a bidding war for $23.00. Now I see dozens of that book listed for as little as $3.00 and free shipping. I did buy and did some selling after that to accumulate 126 feedback points. I didn't realize that I was that active. Now I haven't bought or sold anything on eBay in about 18 years. I stopped when it was required to sign up for and use Paypal for eBay purchases. Almost all of my on line buying is through Amazon.
