The temperature has been very low here in south Florida for the last few weeks. It was 43 degrees this morning, which is cold by Florida standards, when I went to take my morning walk. This is the first time I can remember putting on a jacket before going out for my walk. It snowed in Louisiana and they showed the streets covered with ice. People were actually ice skating and playing hockey on the ice covered streets. Up north they have salt spreader trucks to melt ice on the streets but the South only can wait for warm weather to melt icy streets.

I wonder how the tourists are making out in Miami, 35 miles south of me.
