Well the car is an EV; thanks to the current situation we needed something to carry us up and down 2 kms of steep dirt road without having to worry about the price or availability of petrol. So it was either an EV or a horse. And you can't have just one horse, so a car it was.
The phone was because I was changing service provider due to yet another price increase from someone giving me crappy service, and it wasn't until they were in the process of porting my number they asked me what phone I was using. "Oh we don't support those; the phone will work but you won't be able to contact emergency services"!! Needless to say it didn't work so had to get a new phone the next day.
The vacuum cleaner started screaming at me (bearing probably), so had to get a new one of those, too.
