Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! We don't do much in the way of celebration -maybe a glass of wine while watching the ball drop - one thing we have no problem with is staying awake until midnight and beyond. In the early years of our marriage we went to parties and had a great time - good memories. But the couples who gave those parties have long since stopped partying (as have we) and most have moved away. Patsy, love those pictures!
I bought an apple corer at the beginning of fall with the intention of baking apple pies - never got around to it but the little thingie is waiting if the spirit should move me :-). Mom had a recipe for apple sauce that she cooked in the crock pot that I'd like to try but the box containing all her recipes has been misplaced - probably on a shelf in my sister's garage.
Taxes: Ugh! I do our taxes since we don't itemize but last year and this year we sold some stock to do improvements and renovations to the house and that complicated things. We had an accountant do the part related to the stock and I did the rest last year - guess I'll do the same this year. I do it not to save money but because I like to keep our financial business private. DH says this is ridiculous and I could save myself a lot of irritation by just handing it over to an accountant. He's right.
