When I worked we did inventory on New Years Day and we had some good Southerns cooks in the office who brought black eyed peas in a crockpot, greens (that were NOT out of a can), and corn bread that melted in your mouth. It was a peaceful time (because we were officially closed for inventory and the phones were quiet), doing inventory was easy, and we feasted all day enjoying each other’s company plus we always got several days off when we were finished – an altogether win-win situation.
I’m sitting here procrastinating about taking down the Christmas decorations – always a sad time – so better get busy. A large mug of coffee laced with hot chocolate and an audio book will help.
My New Year’s resolutions are the same as always: walk (&/or dance) every day, and worry less.
