PATSY - Saw you recycle bags at grocery post.
FWIW
I asked at the two big groceries down in Illinois ( wher Mom goes) what they did with their bags, from recycle bin.
I was curious to learn what one could recycle them into because I had always been told that they could not be morphed into a new use. They said they just had the bin there for "goodwill" and they just threw the bags in the garbage. On another note. My Mom's retirement home has a huge project of crocheting the bags into non absorbent sleeping mats for the homeless.
They sort, size and flatten the bags. Next step is to cut them crosswise so they make loops. Others then chain the loops and roll them into big balls. The last step is to crochet them into the mats. They end up about 1-1 1/2 inches thick and maybe 24 inches wide.Back to the kitchen.
