BOB - I ftat was an abcess make sure that it heals from inside out. They can heal over on outside then flare up and open up again. Cats abscesses can be tricky. it means you may have to keep opening the outside closure.
If it hurts that much to touch then sounds like she still has good infection inside. Her movement as to jumping onto things means nothing. It may have no bearing to the pain of the wound itself, like when you touch it. Usually when and abscess is truly healing, the pain to touch is almost nil.
