I get to goodwill about 2x a month but ususly just buy stuff I need around the house. However the other day I did buy 2 really nice sweatgers to sell, a vintage hat, 2 wigs and 3 hair pieces new in the box some books to read, 2 vintage mini half slips, and some old booklets on different Canadian Indian tribes. and a box of vintage sewing stuff. all for 16$. I have photos up loaded to list some items and I have also been sending thngs to a local auction house just to get rid of stuff.

In the morning she is pretty good, but as the day progresses she just gets into this "lost mode" not knowing anyone or what's going on. But she is eating well and sleeping well and loves all the shows on TV we have been talking about, Andy Griffith, Murdershe wrote, Dick Van dyke and then caratoons scooby do and tom and jerry, the jetsons and the flint stones. who knew!

I didn't have much contact with mine after 15 as I went away to school then. She never really had time for me , didn't come to my Graduation or wedding. Never spent holiday with my family because she did't like little kids (They made Her Tired) I took over her finance 5 years ago and when her care reached 16,000 a month I knew I had to do something because she was running out of money. So here she is. She is a nasty mean old lady at 94, who was "happy to be rid of me" (Direct quote) when I got married at 19. The first weeks i didn't understand Dementia at all and lost my temper all the time. She is pretty deaf and I have to shout to be heard. Although i have some one here during the day I have no peace and quite because of the shouting to communicate.
Night time is hard she always ahas to get up between2-3 AM to use the bathroom. She has a big cow bell that she rings s for me. I have COPD/Ashma and lifting her on to the commodde is really hard as I can't breath and sit in her wheel chair until I recover. and she's yelling "what the Hell is the matter with you?"

As to do something for myself I'd like to, but I guess I never really had a life.. it was shopping for stuff and then ebaying it...that was my life that's where my firend were. Now I don't ebay much because I need quiet to do it. No ebay, No money, just enough to pay my bills. Use to be my favorite time of the day was getting into bed at night (around 9PM) with peace and quite and read for a couple of hours. Can't do that now because Mom doesn't want to go to be till after 10 or so. I have to sit with her and watch her as she smokes and drops the cigarettes and burns holes in things or has two lit at a time etc etc etc..

Sorry to complain with all the problems in the world, people suffering I have no right, and that makes me feel worse that I am complaining.
I guess fortunately Mom has no real physical health problems except bad knees she just has dementia.

Last night was her two year old phase. Brush your teeth! No! Why? I don't want to... on and on it went getting her to bed was a sure struggle. But fortunately she slept all night and is still asleep.
