Nancy I'm very sorry for the loss of Izzie ...they leave their paw prints on our hearts . I buried my beautiful white cat , Angel , on Thanksgiving Day in 2008 .

The people of VT and NJ have been in my thoughts as they deal with disaster .. We had serious flooding in our area in May , 2010 ... Many towns in our county and others in W Tn had the worst flooding in over 100 years. I was blessed that my small town was on the fringe of the storms and was spared the worst .

I had a close call in June of this year when a freak Tstorm dumped 3 inches in 30 min ...water got way too close to my homes's South side . I have a drainage ditch at the side of my yard and the old metal culvert under the road had rusted out and was partially blocked , and was restricting the water flow ..( I discovered this after the water went down and I inspected the culvert myself, then wrote a letter to city manager ) . City is in process of replacing the culvert ( cut through the blacktop road over it about 3 weeks ago ) .. Obviously , they are being a bit slow about it , but thats life here in the South 🙂 ..we're currently having a drought here , so hope they get it done before the rains start ..

Still waiting on biopsy resuts from colonoscopy ..but visual exam found no serious problems... so hoping all is well

I see no reason to return to the old board again ... I expressed my opinion there yesterday on one particular subject and my regrets to Mr. Bodine that he had not seen the glory days of the old BB . And so I am done ...this is my Book Board home now and I am happy here.

I now look forward to coming here each day to see old friends and make new ones..

casinokat Exciting news about the book

Rusty (14lbs , 11 yrs old ) and his family were a group of large cats . His mother , Mardi Gras was 14 lbs and passed last year at 11 yrs old ... his brother Dusty ( 20 lbs and just over 3 ft long frpm nose to end of tail ) passed at 8 years old , sister Beauty(12 lbs ) passed at 5 yrs old.. and I wonder if their large size that shortened their life span .
RE : Frontline .. my vets advised me years ago to buy the large dog size of Frontline and put it in a small, clean bottle ..then use .5 cc ( 1/2 of 1 cc ) between the shoulder blades or back of neck to treat an ADULT cat . I wash and keep the antibiotic dispensers they give me when one is sick to measure the dose of Frontline. It has saved me a fortune since I have rescued and fostered lots of cats over the last 10 years. Most vets will verify this if you ask them ..unless they are money hungry .

On a sad note , one of my oldest cats passed away yesterday .. his name was Rusty ... a 14 lb orange Tabby .. I helped his stray cat mom deliver her litter in my outside storage building in March of 2000 on a stormy , rainy night . They are all gone now ..Rusty was the last one. It's hard to see them go .

I recently found a story written by briguy that I had saved to my computer years ago . It was about his fathers hunting dog. Briguy is a fabulous writer , I re-read the story and it brought tears to my eyes just as it did years ago .. I so hope he decides to come over to this chat and continue to share his talent and knowledge.
