My brother is 81, NEVER wore shorts. The Temp could be 100 degrees and he still wears long pants. "My legs are too hairy"..I have tried to convince him otherwise but it just wont work. Oh well............

Beth.. I gave up on Ebay. It got slower and slower. As of May 1st I have nothing listed. Etsy is (was) doing well. Almost to a stop because of Mothers Day coming up. Wishing all those mothers out there a beautiful and joyous day.

Weather here has been rain, rain, drizzle, rain etc all year. Highs in the 50s once in a while. Today and tomorrow temps will be dry and in the 70's. I don't know where that came from, but I will take it. Then temps and rain will make a comback.

49 deg here in Salem, Or and will be that temp for a couple days. Then 40 deg for a couple days, then back to 50. Typical weather pattern for us this time of year.

My cousin yesterday. Had a flight out of Portland back to Phoenix - Spirit Airlines at 10 am. Canceled. Refunded. Got a flight on American Airlines for 3pm. Delayed - till 5. Delayed till 7:30. Got home at 10:30. A long day, but at least she made it and her luggage managed to fly with her. Not a horror story like many SW airlines, but still ugly.

Temp here in Salem, Oregon is 45. The thaw that was forecast happened. It got up to 54 yesterday PM. And was 51 when I went to bed. All the ice is gone and it is raining. (Well, it is Oregon)

I sent a package to California on Nov 15th. 3 weeks later, it hasn't arrived. I emailed the customer yesterday that I would give a full credit today because of her patience. I just checked tracking. WOW----This is new. It looks like looks like the package went to AFRICA and is on the way back. What the ... ?

The Postal Service initially indicated that retail operations had been suspended for 10 separate post offices in South Florida on Sept 27. But later that same day, the USPS updated its Service Alerts page with more than 200 additional facilities in the state that will not be operating due to the hurricane. Services at all of these facilities are being "temporarily suspended until future notice," according to the agency.

Oregon: Total Salem Hospital patients with Covid: 124 as of Wednesday morning, an increase of 11 from Wednesday. That's the highest one-day count since the pandemic began, breaking a record of 119 patients on Jan. 25, and 112 on Sept. 6, 2021.

Of those, nine are in the intensive care unit, and five are on ventilators.

Seventy-one of those in the hospital are not vaccinated against Covid, and 53 are vaccinated.

I went out to my clinic today. Decided to get my Covid booster scheduled (figured they would be busy - expected a 1-2 week delay). Appointment could only be made for Jan 19th. OMG.. Short staffing and the rush by everyone else to get the booster is causing it.

I will just be a hermit for a little longer. (Been one for 2 years now.)

Waching the bidding and gossip on the side of the auction and saw "Kathy Barnett" make a comment. Hmmm...Asked if she was the Kathy from Book Board and she came back with YES. And later said that Ted/Fred had gotten married. Took me a minute to remember who that was. Hard to believe it has been - what, 10 years...?

I thought I might have missed a notice on the change-over. Searched...Finally found the right page...with this notice:

Maybe because I am a "small" seller.

But they do the direct deposit only once a week. If you NEED the money, you can ask for it. Not sure if they charge a fee for that though

June...Etsy does that. I sell some things over there. I haven't decided if that is better than through Paypal. Direct payment means I don't get a charge to my credit card for fees, which I am glad to see. Fees are automatically deducted from the amount sent to my bank.

Since you guys mentioned it, I just went out to my neighborhood discount store. I use HP ink. And they had it...same price as Staples, so I got a backup.

Luckily Oregon has vote by mail or drop box since 1998. i will be dropping off my ballot at City hall drop box tomorrow. Eazy peezy.

Oregon DMV has finally opened up for business this week. I got a letter saying I had to come in for a new picture etc. I was expecting that. But I have tried to make an appointment for a week. As if 2020 wasn't bad enough, forest fires. Here in Salem, Oregon and up the valley to Portland covered in smoke. Towns East of us are being told to be ready to evacuate or get out now. Cars streaming into Salem from the Cascades. AND, a "wind event". High wind is knocking out power and downing trees in areas North and East of us. Salem is not in a real danger, but I have COPD. Breathing with all the smoke in the air is hard.

The community library had a Book Sale today. Yeah....filled 2 sacks. Just enjoyed getting out..
