Ebay has announced a "consolidation" which translates to "elimination," and most of the interest-specific boards will go. Sadly, the book sellers' board will be gone, as will jewelry, coins, etc., with most of the interest-specific boards condensed into "Art & Collectibles." RIP BSB.

I use VTG/Vintage as a key word when doing price comparisons and want to narrow my search, and I think buyers do that as well. With the number of spaces now permitted in an item title, I think "VTG" can be a valuable addition, (along with everything else that should be in a title), even if too many sellers use it inappropriately.

If you select the non-fiction category, Books, then Cookbooks, the item specifics will give you Subject: Cooking, Food, Wine. Then, in the Topics dropdown, you'll find the specifics you want, such as Regional, Community, Baking, Soups & Stews, etc.

Since the book had already been relisted several times, was priced low, and was by no means an exciting offer, I was a bit taken aback at the number of hits. I checked the description and photo to see if I had made an interesting error, and I googled the topic to see if there was something going on that might be driving up interest, but found nothing. In the end, I assumed there had to be a link to the listing in a newsletter or blog, but I never found out where. And no, the book didn't sell.
