We have our very own Red Chief in our 14yo G-Grandson. His paternal G-parents took him along with parents and his older brother and sister on a skiing trip to Vail. The parents of the other two had them but Red Chief rode with his paternal grand parents. I've been thinking of asking Red Chief's grandparents if they would have paid the ransom. Yes the G-Grandson is much like Red Chief but I would not change a thing about our G-Grandson. And I suspect that his grandfather recognizes himself in the boy.
