Helen: I hope you and your family are safe! That explosion sounds terrible! Hope all the Indy people are doing okay.

Big happy birthday wishes to Patsy. And thanks so much for your card!

Helen: So good to see you! Glad you are out and about. SO and I watched both conventions, but SO watched much more of both. I could only get thru so much before I decided my time was better spent on the 'puter. And yes, Romney/Bain was involved with Staples in his early years [before he discovered that it was easier to bankrupt plants/businesses than try to make a go of them]. And before anyone gets all huffy, he admitted that in his book.............................
I order my puter supplies and pet meds on eBay. The prices are very competitive and I buy from sellers who offer one day shipping. I get my orders very quickly and I have never had any problem/issues. I do drop off printer cartridges at Staples. I redeem them for $2 each and use the credits to buy envelopes and Avery labels. I find old cartridges all over and the $20 per mo credit comes in handy, especially on sale items.
Briguy: I picked up a huge box of kids toys at the transfer station and brought it home for sorting. To my surprise, on the bottom, I found a handful of early wheat pennies. They are in a little plastic bag on my bureau now. I went thru a box of misc paper at the same transfer station and found a Borders gift card. I checked its value and found it was an unused $50 gift card [which I promptly used to purchase some DVD's SO had wanted]. [And then there was the time at the flea market when I bought a box of US postage stamps for about 25% of value. Why, you might ask? Well, the seller said they were old and probably were not good anymore!] SO purchased a pair of pants at a rummage sale and came home and found $20 bill stuffed into the coin pocket! It paid for his purchases.
You just don't know when you are going to get lucky! And I just love stories like these...

FWIW: USPS 1st Class International mail can be insured through Shipsurance. Inkfrog offers insurance coverage thru their site. If you are not an Inkfrog subscriber, you can buy insurance thru the Shipsurance website. Only caveat, they have a list of countries for which they do not provide coverage due to war, instablity or other issues. Brazil was recently put on their list.

@mysteryhorse: THNX for the info. It's not like anything else I've seen!

@mysteryhorse: Hoping you can help me id this horse. The only marking is on the bottom - the word "Pony". TIA

Thanks for the update, Seth. Always an interesting read. With Mathews new biography of JFK making the news, I am surprised that his yearbook did not go higher.

Hi Laurie: The "mall" has been as productive as ever! When I got there last week, I was told that someone was emptying a house and that a load of books had come in. I filled the back of the Jeep! Problem was what to do with them when I got home....where to put them all. Finally took pictures and got two complete Time-Life series up and running. More to go!
