• dramlin Howdy do! That tape dispenser is sitting right next to me on the rolling cart. I may not be packing up books everyday anymore, but I still mail out stuff on occasion (the husband will ask "hey, can you ebay this?").

jim The kid practically only leaves his dorm room to go to work. I guess he went to the Bush Company a couple of times with some co-workers. I think it was colder when we lived in Connecticut. We had 7' of snow the 2014/2015 winter. He hardly had any.

So Tehachapi is pretty podunk, but the new Dunkin' Donuts is just about ready to open. Woo hoo! This is Starbucks country which I'm not a fan of (bitter). The nearest Dunkin' Donuts is in Barstow (the pitstop to Las Vegas - right next to Hinkley - you know, the town the movie Erin Brokovich is about).

Now, I would love to see an Arby's. 40 miles to the nearest Arby's.

  • mysteryhorse I have a horse for a neighbor behind me. I call her a her, cuz she looks like a girl and I've named her Vanilla Bean (she's blonde). She's got her coat on right now (below freezing at night here). She's the best of the neighbors so far. Hahahaha.

Seriously, I'm a bum. Nothing's going on with me. I am so bored, I bought a Christmas tree. Only about 5' tall, but it gave me something to do for an hour. Husband loves it. Cat loves it more.

  • Sneaking in ...

I often come and read the board to see how everyone is doing. Today, I noticed the "In Memoriam" page and was floored by how many friends were there. I wanted to ask, if anybody knows. I think bb-boo was close in age to me. When did she pass?

Not sure if anyone knows, but we moved to California last year. Ummmmmm, not sure how I'm feeling about it yet. 🙂 We live in Tehachapi (about 40 miles east of Bakersfield). Husband's job is at Edwards AFB. Kiddo has been in the Air Force for 2-1/2 years and is in Anchorage, Alaska (Elmendorf AFB). He likes it up there. Noticed Jim was just up there. Oh, and I've become a bum. Had a job earlier this year, but didn't like it. Haha.

  • Also meant to say thanks to clementine for the email. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the birthday wishes dupo and mysteryhorse. I turned 49 yesterday. Considering we're a 49ers family, it's kinda cool.

Today, a bunch of the husband's family is coming over. It's a farewell party for my son, Jack, who is now 20 years old. Unbelievable!! He's heading off to basic training in San Antonio Texas (Air Force) on Monday.

Not much changed, elsewise. Working, still in Connecticut (who knows for how long), getting older.
