Hello All!
DUPO, Yes, we had 12 inches so the drought is now officially history in this area.
A young neighbor dad with a snow blower was here early this morning and opened our driveway even tho we were happy to stay home today. Happily, March snows melt quickly!

Happy Birthday Diane! Your bouquet sounds glorious!
Dupo, looks like you'll be spared the baby shower today, good day to curl up with a book, right?
Bob, And a Blessed Palm Sunday to you also as we start Holy Week!
Helen, glad you are feeling better!

Thanks Bob, Jim and all for the help with the symbols, I got it! Now I don't have to spell out degrees when I email my friend in Ft. Lauderdale, who is sitting there basking in the sunshine while we're shoveling 8" out of the driveway. But we need the moisture.
I learned to type in high school on a manual Royal, with empty keys, so you could never look. When I first worked I was known as a stenographer 1 and then advanced to a stenographer 2. Never see those words anymore. Also used a teletype machine, guess those are obsolete now too. Obsolete and a "throw away" that's the way I feel many days!

Mornin'
June, we started with sleet, ground was covered, now is snowing. More than an inch on the deck so far. 27 degrees. I remember when using XP there was a neat way to make the "degree" symbol. Doesn't work with Vista that I have found. Anyone here know? Thanks, hope all are having a good day! -

June, hope the eye exam went well, great idea to have second opinions as to frames, such an ordeal. I have had new frames since November, gone back twice for adjustments and the darn things still aren't right! So expensive too!

Diane! I like that!
June, Good Morning, I didn't see you down there. Weather sounds fine in Dupo, just like here in Godfrey today! Take care!

Wonder if this means P O will still deliver catalogs and junk mail on Saturday? I haven't read the article.
I'm really confused with Photobucket's new directions, have read lots of complaints, seems I'm not the only one in left field on this one. I liked the old Photobucket, wish they would leave it alone. Thanks for letting me vent!

JUNE, Just logged in to catch your weather report there in Dupo and I'm not seeing it. Hope you're okay, and just out enjoying our 50 degree sunny day?

Good Morning GinnyRose! How clever is that! Thanks for posting.
Is 'Winter of the World' the Ken Follett sequel to 'Fall of Giants'? Didn't realize it was out.

Good Morning Patsy, looks like we're the only early birds here!
June, my earliest years were in Percy, from there to Steeleville. First job was in Menard, rented an apartment above the Kroger store, down the hall from the mayor's office in Chester. Small world, eh? I tried to find your email address but wasn't successful.
Happy New Year to All!

June in Dupo! I just read further down that you were raised in Chester, I grew up in neighboring Steeleville! How 'bout that?!

Oh my goodness, I just saw the news. How could this have happened. They're all in my prayers, no appetite for dinner tonight.
June: eau de swamp, exactly! Maybe a little rain tonight, but it won't be enough.

Jim, this isn't a chlorine odor, more like an old mildewed (sp?) dish rag or a locker room that's gotten funky with wet swim suits and socks. I fail to see how anyone would want to drink this! But the sun is shining and there's still much to be thankful for.
Well, I see my picture has disappeared. Oh darn, that means I have to read directions. Again.
My cousin was extolling the wonders of her Smart Phone yesterday. Not remotely ready to slog through those directions!

Good Morning! Yes the low river level is not only bad for our water, but also the barge traffic. I tried boiling also, but will go out this morning for bottled water. Patsy, yes the drought is serious with only a small amount of rain in the forecast for the weekend.
I enjoy reading the posts on this board and wish all of you a good weekend! Doris

June Kamm, Wow you're having water issues in Dupo too, isn't it awful? Lots of folks here in the Alton area are carrying in bottled water. Water company says its still safe to drink, but yuk!

Hi Y'All! Just passing through and saw breadbox mentioned. I personally never had one until last year with the kitchen remodel one day someone mentioned where was the bread drawer. Eek, no extra drawer for bread, so now am the proud owner of a stainless steel bread box, first one we've ever owned. Now if DH could just remember to put the bread in the dern thing! He still empties the dishwasher, but doesn't remember where to put the dishes, glasses or silverware. Dementia is a slow creepy ugly scarey disease. We take one day at a time. Oh sorry didn't mean to vent here, this isn't the AC board!Anyway, good night all, hope sleeps finds you! Just wandering around after a sleeping pill might find me anywhere. But I do like all you folks here too so hope you all don't mind my knocking on this door and half asleep at that! Dori

Hi June, Hmm, must try to remember how to get my picture back up. We live in Godfrey, not too far from you. Years ago I was on the hunt for advertising trade cards and would frequent the Belleville flea market. I think it is still held on the last full weekend of the month. Haven't been there for 7 or 8 years.
Nice to meet you, I enjoy reading all of the posts here!

Hi June in Dupo! Your post caught my eye, we're practically neighbors you know. I agree we've had great weather. I usually hang out over at the AC board. Nice to see you again! Do you ever go to the flea market in Belleville?

Dupo, I'm wondering the same thing? St. Louis got hit hard with hail, just hard rain and wind here north of the city.

Sorry about that! I'm an old ebayer, but new here. Was just trying to upload a picture and it fizzled. Will try again later. Anyway, just noticed a Dupo resident here. Hi Dupo, we're almost within shoutin' distance. I'm in Godfrey, nice to meet you!
