• Just getting back to normal after my husband's death and have forgotten much of what is going one here and with the old original chat. Also, I was interested in the "stock market "part of one of the chats and can't find that an more.

I have to get a new computer, this one does not remember the old favorites, it seems. Really liking this winter with very little snow. I am am busy packing things here in my apartment as I am moving about 10 miles from here in with my daughter, Trish. It will be a very good move. No children, just a Yorkie dog in a very nice area. I do it hesitantly but know it is best for all of us.

She spent the last 2 years spending so much time with her father and it will be easier for her if I am living there. I could still live alone as I do have several I can hire to come in and help me if needed but I am packing. I have been here 10 years and havemore than 100 boxes of semi-antiques etc, lots of books etc that wil go to the thrifts or the hired help.

I would like to copy that stuff about the stock market that one of you were so kind to put on one of the chats....where?

Thanks for all the expressions of sympathy when we needed them. Marge

  • Hello, It has been a long time since I posted here but I had 4 back operations and my husband has been in a VA nursing home for 3 months. He died last night and it was a blessing as he has so much pain. the daughters and the home took good care of him but he could not get better and that is no way to live.

Needless to say, the dinner was sort of put on the back burner but I see you people have been busy here. Glad you all had a good day. I have some one come in and help me. About 4 PM she came with a nice turkey dinner...I ate everything on the plate and felt very grateful.

  • Sales:

    watch 18k,Savitts ......200.
    2 watches, Gruens.....300.
    watch waltham....9.99

all surprises to me. I have a box of watches to list. I think those were the best ones.

I am bothered along with others with the use of a and an. To me it is simple but you hear it being used wrong on TV from some very smart people I guess we will have to ignore it.

  • I really thank you all so much for replying to my survey. I felt that I needed that information. I take a medicine that contributes to the osteoporous.I just had cement put in 2 more vertebrae. My back feels wonderful. I knew I would get some wonderful information here, thanks, again. The statins give me too many muscle pains.

I got a quart of the almond milk and I will get some more tomorrow. I had forgotten how good it was on everything.

  • TO "AS WE CALL IT THE ALL KNOWING BOARD"- does anyone here have any experience with any of the pills or shots for osteoporous? My Dr. has given me my choice of FOSIMAX, ONCE A WEEK...BONIVA,ONCE A MONTH...OR THE NEW SHOT , ONCE A YEAR. I told him I would take a survey of a lot of women and see what they thought. I was operated again for the 3rd time with broken vertebrae. I have had #2,3,11, and 12 filled in with cement. It works wonderful but I need to take one of the medicines and I don't know which one to choose. I had one done Wednesday.

  • Grano-nice that you could have such a wonderful trip and have so many great pictures to show. I would love to go to Alaska but am much too old for that now. Flew over it on the way to China but we should have started traveling earlier. I always thought I had to chase antiques and do so many other meaningless things. Go again, as soon as you can.

  • BETH-Again, thanks, I didn't have a lot of confidence in that amount of money I was coming up with. I thought it would be much more,

GRANO-I do have 4 storage units filled with suff and things from my old house. Paying money on them but this is the year it all goes out the door. I will save what is really of much value and give the rest away...anything my children don't want. I saved too many things and the prices of most of it has gone done so much that it is cheaper to just give it away. Most of it doesn't owe me anything as I had sold the best in most cases. I had never heard of those magnets, they retail for $175, I was told.

  • Just sold an item my so found and gave me to list. You might see some these. I have emails wanting more and had an offer of $100. before they came off. Item # 360383749873. Now my question...I know nothing about international shipping. They should weigh about 1 pound when wrapped. Would the PO have the boxes, I looked up the calclated postage but hardly trust myself to tell her the amount of the postage. That would be 1 pound going to Austria. What would be the safest way to mail them. Can I insure them? Thanks for the info...perhaps, some day I will be able to help some of you.

  • BETHOFVT- I thank you so much and that was a hard question to answer and you did such a good job doing just that...Ebay should hire you to do that instead of printing all the pages they print with the fees listed. I found or was aware of some of them. I do have a store but I could not find anything about books. That was just what I needed. If you ever need any help with dishes, I am pretty good at that. I have dealt antiques and lived with them all my life so I have picked up just enough to dangerous. Sitting here looking at some Blue Willow plates I should be putting on. They don't bring much but I need to get this stuff out of here. Instead, I have been sitting here getting some worthless knitting books ready to list. Should just throw them in the garbage. I have promised to list at least 3 items a day.

  • I have not listed much for quite some time. Would some one, please, how much it is to list books. Auction, fixed price , or store. Thanks Marge

  • BETHOFVT-Sorry, didn't know you knew. I guess it takes all kinds.

  • beth Look under "adult baby" and you will learn about the plastic diapers...I sold 100 two years ago and could not believe what I was looking at.

  • Thanks so much. I remember reading it and probably have it printed out somewhere. My filing system leaves something to be desired.

  • Hi, trying to list a few book this morning. It seems to me that once I read in Satnrose tips that if you saw "library of congress" in a childrens book it would tell you that it was NOT a First Edition. Can anyone help me with this. I just goodgled it and seemed to get a different answer. I have a book here published by Viking. But it has the words Library of Congress under it. Then Published by the Colonial Press. Quite sure it is not a First but am I wrong about the Satnrose statement? It is a good book and is signed by the author.

  • Hi Joanne, good to see you. Say hi to Jack.

  • FURTINA Sorry about you mother but you and our sister were so good to her. My mother has been dead 45 years and often I think of things I would like to tell her. Move on now knowing full well that you have done your best.

  • Thanks, Beth, for your reply. I am getting a new computer and will ask then if it is alread available on the the Windows 7. It is always fn to find a book you keep looking for. Qite a while ago , I found Clive Cussler's ICEBERG book.. Doesn't happen very often.

  • BETHOFVT I have been thinking about getting the Dragon Voice to Type program. I think I read that you had it and used it. Can you use it to list items on ebay? Also, for writing notes etc? Thanks

  • Thanks for the help, Glad to "see" all of you here.I have been in the hospital for a tune up. Stayed 2 weeks. I am home sorting Barbie and Barbie related dolls. I know very little about them but am picking up a little knowledge. I will save a few for my GGD. She is only 2 but she likes them. Marge
