@mainer111, I have done a lot of research on osteoporosis for my job. Basically everything lludwig says is true. One thing to consider is that all these drugs are effective, so it's pretty much a matter of personal choice. Except for Reclast, all the medications on th emareet require that you not eat for half an hour before taking, and have to sit or stand for some period of time afterwards. Yes, they can cause indigestion/heartburn. You should choose what is most convenient for you, and keep in mind that for some peopole, a once a month pill is easily forgotten! There are generics on the market, so if cost is a consideration, there are cheap ones available.
