Been awhile .... for those that dont know, floated a balloon in Feb to ' see' and my house sold in 2 days. What a job ! I m now in Lafayette In with my daughter and fam, in my Grammie apartment. Hope you are all well !

Hello all.. been busy with a visit from a sister ,a busy few days. went to two nurserys, clothes shopping and even to an auction, tho t then came down wih some crud. Back o my feet again. Been reading a bit to keep up.
The daffodils are done, lil kim lilacs opening as well as allium. Dove on a nest in a hanging basket may have just decided to stay, I see no chicks yet, Zosia and Stauchu the ducks are in residence in the happy garden bushes.
Been plowing thru some closets , most of Pats clothing is gone now. And found some things I forgot I had. Pretty bad organizing if you forget you even have them.
Started up PT and pool again for knee. Dr says no surgery needed at this time

Whizzing thru for a very fast hello. Not on line as much as usual ,this past week,, but gearing up , mentally for some spring clean out and maybe bring the mustang out of storage
Snow drop daffodils in bloom.
Purple tulips open.
Another white flowered blooming bush opened on thurs.
Knee trouble will try to be worked out with pt. Seems the replacement is ok, but scar tissue has taken over.
A dove has made it s nest in a hanging planter and I think they will open this week.
Think I saw my first hummingbird. They were prolly here but I had not been paying attention. Better get the feeders out.

Checking in for a hello. Have yet to set up this link on the more used computer. Hope you are all well. I have read some of the board in the last two weeks. You folks really amaze me. Tho, it s not the old BB, still interesting people doing interesting things. I ve learned a lot from many of you about the ' seasons' of life.
So much for pontificating.

Taa daaaaa... I ve sold 2 books this last week on the river . The first in almost 3 years! The first was a book on the butterfly fauna of Ceylon. Had insets of butterfly pics . The book itself was trashed ( and I described it ) . cover wear , no spine etc. I felt it might have been of interest to a butterfly nut or crafter. There were only two listed, both over $125. I listed at 25 and it sold in 4 days.So I guess you can say I m back in the saddle again... well at least approaching the horse.

Had taxes done and getting a fed refund. Enough to pay the state, a facial and maybe some new plants , so I am a happy camper there. WE paid the last 3 years and now will have to scout out the taxes dh did , as I don't think we should have been paying

The weather ha been typical April ,, rainy off and on and wow, the wind has been more like March.

Last week, 3 dr appts and 2 group things. Darn tis getting old crap is really getting crappy,

Had the spring yard clean up done, and had them take out a few dead bushes Guess in 9 years they had enough .

Hello all... sunny but brisk at about48 , here in the far FAR NE Indy area.Hope you are al fine. Just this week I started in on some books listed fast on amazon. Just moving along, Busy day yesterday with the books ( 12 ) and dr appt.. then in the evening went to the new season of grief support group . Funny, how you might fel on a busy day and still not sleep. So, that's my night for this . week
My plan right now is to resort and re think the books on hand. ( tho I have about 20 boxes in the storage unit ). I m culling out books that sell for extra cheap. Some may be put aside as the topics , with good description, should sell on ebay......now for a quick read of the board and prepare for gp apt and return an item to a store. Plus po..... multi tasking

whoops... I forgot to say,, peapod may be run thru 'lil giant', ' ' stop n shop' etc First time shopper gets $20 off first 100 order.

the only b day party I ever had,, was held in the backyard ( not popular at the time ) My father didn't want a bunch of kids in the house The other thing,,,, we had to also include my ds sister and friends . Tho it was july, her BD was in January. So I never felt like it was my party.None of the sibs had party, My parents just didn't have kids b day parties.
In high school.... friends would collect a quarter or so from friends, buy you a corsage, a stuffed animal and decorate your locker. Tho my bd isin July, they did it a few times in June

Made my peapod order at 10 pm last night....it will be here between 6 and 8 tonight,,,, thos I could choose other time frames I took the one with a delivery discount . I lied the other day. delivery is more , if you spend less than 100. I do pile up on pop, juices , water etc. Then the guy can carry in the heavy ( and all ),,,, not me !!

Beth,,, well when it rains it pours. I think AEG mentioned that . Not much or average going on or its all at once. I did it too . Planned a dr apt and attending a closing for my son on the same day ! Also jammed another apt in same day as the rugs being cleaned .( btw a tip of my hat to you on the students),

March is a great time for b days,,,, dd and a gs . And the birthstone is lovely,,,, aqua marine is often found as the very palest sheer blue,,, many people think the blue topaz is an aqua marine.

Will read some more here then off to move the bedroom chairs to make rom for carpet guy.

Oh.. and yesterdays new ( to me ) sightings,, the redish finches and the pair of doves who nest in the back pine tree.

Hi All...... dreary n 45 right now. Warmer all this week, but also rain mentioned for all but on day..... Seems like a combo of April showers and the windy March lion.

I m formulating a new parking format. For the better of 3 years, I would drop off hubby and then park . We did get the handicapped thing for the car. Actually, I use it more now my self because of ra and knee problems.
I am lucky enough to have most big grocery shopping delivered by peapod. Especially when I want pop , water cases . They carry it right into the kitchen for me. The delivery is very reasonable and I do tip the guy. I have not been to a grocery store in over the last 2 1/2 winters. No snow ice slogging , no carrying it to the car, into the house. He even places the cold frozen near the fridge and other by the dry storage cabinets, Some times I spend less as I am not going thru aisles and picking up this and that. There is name brands and house brands, They even have stamps.I know it is not available every where. While I do have to force myslf to get out of the house ,,,, I m not carrying big heavy stuff.

Being a clothes - nut,,, I think a movie f Downtown abbey is a great idea. With all those wonderful costumes, it would be such a waste not for them to be used and seen.

Shortly before the holidays, I found out what I was driving had numerous repairs needed. ( I did have a second opinion so I don't think I was being BS ed.). I decided to get a new car. It is silver and I too was disappointed there were not too many other choices. I would have preferred a light blue or green . At first my kids were a lil upset, but now they get it, that I am a bit safer . There is 5 yr bumper to bumper coverage, blue tooth and enjoying the Sirius radio So nice not to hear same commercials over and over. As I m not on the go very much , the car just turned 1000 miles. ( does that make my car that the lil ol lady only drove on sunday ) .

Several years ago, hubby bought his dream car. 67 Mustang convertible. It is red with wide white racing stripes. I only drove it a few times as it did not have power steering. We put in the power brakes and planned on the ps next. ThoI learned to dive with out power , I surely didn't want to screw up and hit any thing,

Hello all,,,, just a stopping by. Sunny but brisk 29 , in the farFAR ne burbs of indy, They are calling for 60s tomorrow thru fri,,,, but also rain every day.
After a quick read of the board and fb, going to go out and 'walk' the grounds and make a list of what has to be done and what I d like to have done. Tree buds are abounding ( the pin oak finally lost all but a dozen old leaves) . The daffodils are poking out fromm about one inch to 3 , depending on the type. A few have the tiniest hint of yellow tips.
Been battling fm and ra and in the midst of a change of all the meds for those and depression.

BB Boos middle son Brandon and Jenny, have presented us with our first G grand!!Cheri would have been so exited I Andrew has moved to MiNN ad will be helping design andconstruction of the new labratory atGM. I have been out of the loop selling and a lot of stuff. Barely sold 3 things last month. Trying once again now... havng found some others sellers. I wanted to thank several, that posted on FB to me , about my bday, Oh and speaking of B days,,,, ydd KYM will be having their second child in march.

A very quick hello.... flowers blooming. The DH is in the hosp with pneumonia etc. 10 days now he is getting a bit better.The bit of baying I ve done is on the way side again. Can't keep my mind motivated.
The new family baby has arrived,, our first GREAT grand. Named " Brooke Lynn. ( lynn is bb boo 7-11). All those are healthy. Our other guy... Wrigley is running every one in circles and is a very smilely 15 month old.. Full of the dickens. Hopeing all of you are going well

Sock hops, I liked the dancing, but also made a practice of looking for a lost contact lense and see how many people would help.

( sneaks in).... to say Hi all. I have been delinquent not to have stopped in for months. Baby W is walking and some of you might want to know BB Boos first grandchild( our first great grand) is coming in March.

Been hanging in here,,,, tired of snow. been a record year. Pat is now on o2 round the clock. Kinda hard for him to do the stairs. We wanted to invest in a travel machine and after found a used one, found out 3 of the companies here will not sell us parts or service them as we did not buy from them. WE found some filters on ebay, but now we don't have the right driver or stamina for it. Grrr

DD Kym tho lives 120 min away makes a point that we see each other at least every 2 weeks. She has gotten a job for the USPS working pt alternating 2 days and one day a week. She delivers a rural route that is so rural, after the course of the day (5 6hours) does not pass a gas station or stop sign. Using her own Subaru, she sits half on the middle.

I came to day to thank many of you. It was many years ago this week,,,, was my mother s big birthday. I asked for card to be sent to her, So many of you responded.... over 82 cars came. Some were post cards some had lil letters in them. She was just really shocked that people I ' knew' would do that. I still have the cards and look thru them once I in a while.

Sounds like an interesting read. Grano. Right now I am reading a history book , starting at year 1000. It is called " the time tables of American history'. Done in a charted / year style. I can compare what was going on where in the world by areas such as politics, arts. science & tech etc. I am amazed, how short of time ( or long) somethings happened.
IE : 1676 , Mass, regulates the price of shoes to five pence and a half penny for all plain and wooden heeled shoes. Also, same year , COnn, forbids any one to wear clothes that do not match their place in society. This applied to the wearing of silks, gold or silver lace and any other luxury fabric.

In local news, DS and family are moving to Canada, as Jake has been accepted to the Perimeter Institute of Physics. Don't have a lot of details of how long this schooling is.
Last week, ' Grampie' got a first high five from Wrigley,,,,, kinda corny I know , till your newest grand does it. Also, for first time, he smiled at me when I said something that he seemed to understand. Growing so fast, wish he would stop.
Had a couple sales and didn't realize how much postage went up to EU.. I know it went up, just not how much.. Might try and list a lil more. Have so much to sell , starting to consider gouping items( yet, bought some 2 weeks ago).
Needed both cars fixed and missed another family party in Chi town.
Pat is hanging in here. The humidity is really taking it out on him. Last month,,,, he had been researching and looking for a muscle car and he ( we ) bought a 67 mustang convertible. More than 2/3 restored. Haggerty insu , has estimated a value of 2 x what we paid. On our first ride, I said, ' people will say " look at the old car and the two old people in it'".... LOL.
Have to look up some info on nutritional eating and the brain. I think Sue g posted some and I saw a piece on tv about it. Course, by the time I thought of it,,, it was almost over.

They were just in Europe , reports from SA are coming and the book has not yet released there!! They have just done a tv interview in CA ( No linke yet)... and if all goes according to tv schedules, you might catch him on Katie Couric this week.

I know you have known his 'story' , but thought might like to see him in his new 15 yr olds face. ( Wondering if his dad will let him drive now , like we did.... lol)

Hiyall..... Thinking of you . I know some of you have been keeping up in Patrick taking ill after breathing bad stuff from China . ( there is oodles of arsenic and formaldehyde. Way way above gov allowed levels.). It has been 4 YEARS. Pat had 3 hospitalizations just last year and two home health care rounds this year. Dr says aim is to keep him out of hospital .Pat is now on o2 around the clock and us having 2 oxygen concentrators plus the large can to fill a small travel can , in the house. We have not yet been able to get our own travel concentrator.
Went to CA in January for MORE depositions and dr checking.Tho we had an oxy concentrator with us, the flight layover in Denver really set him back) Deposing him for 12 hours and me for nearly 7. He had already deposed before. That was still not enough and our attn. and their 2 lawyers came here and deposed Pat for another 12 (!) hourse. They also went to Detroit to depose a former boss. Also deposing one dr for 8 (!) hours and our family dr for 5.They also had a video and court reporter here into the house. And so we plug along. our new gs is a delight. Seeing the love in the mom n dads eyes is wonderful. I have retypes this 3 times and finally cut n pasted. Will also pasted a fb post i made a few days ago. I try and check in there a few time a week. There will be a second post to add... if you sre so inclined to read.

I was lucky enough one year to have her as my bbb, and she made a glorious glass bracelet for me. I wear it often and get to tell about her.Bye for now, Maureen.

In other news, I ve been lazy , busy or something.The dr appt about 2 weeks ago has got a hold of me. Off to the Hopspital for a scan, then getting several calls about making new appts with other dr. Just what I need 2 weeks before a wedding.

Pat is doing better with his pt. They have allowed him to come up on his own and we actually slept in our own bed for the first time in..... I think weeks.Maybe 2 months.

Wow...... geeee , thanks for the b day wishes .But.... lets not make me older so fast. I think the original stating of my b day dates was a gag by EBOZO . he even gave me a january b day date once.

Hello all..Happy birthdays , hellos, condolences or......... just thought I better check in. DH is still fairly ill and we have pt and nursing coming in for him, including a hopital bed and help for him 5 x a week. Don't know why we didnt have this first time he was sick.
I... had a bad drug reaction to a pain shot ( which I have had before)and ,,,,, when ever I last posted. My neihbor, the dear gal is, brought us food and shakes today and shamed us for not asking for help sooner. Then the went on to clean the kitchen and more. We only had been having nooodels and soup and toast since monday. Today is my first day of strength of any sort. Sure sucks when you are both ill.the pt folks are shocked we have no help.
And so,.,,,, being a downer, just wanted to let you know where I was. Keep positives in your mind for us, as I might not be back for a few days.

Know I ve been away,,,,, Pat is back home. Getting better.( I ll fill in later) I ve had several emails and cards from here and other boards,,,, thanks so much.

Joanne...... I would have been more than happy to help, but she said she would take care of it. In the midwest,,,,or at least the family circles we grew up in.... it's considered bad taste for the MOB to throw the shower.
I started the center pcs (15 tables of 8)for the wedding and kym and her dh wanted to do them together themselves.Cant worry about it all..... they said they will get here ( both cars are questionable). I might give them mine, even tho it needs about 500 in work.

Pat is still suffering. They brought in an immunologist 2 days ago. The nrurse returned my call and said.... oh we dont have any info on your hubby as he has not has an appt yet with dr. Duh.... he saw him twice. Those weren't appts? They are now trying to connext his reflux to his repeated lung propblem.

Sorry , I m a nag today. Found out the bridesmaid that said she would ' take care of every thing' for Kyms shower,,,, has done nothing yet.,

for those so inclined,,,,,, please, positive thought, good wishes and prayers for my dh.Dr says they are fighting 3 strains of infection.

I have people to build me up . How lucky am I ?

I know I have been away again. Sadly, mrkat is back in the hospital again, with the pneumonia.

BTW SAM..... they cut my lyrica down when I reached the 150mg.I take a lower dose along with cymbalta and my shot .... doing better than usual. I think summer helps. Sending my best wishes for your ' mom'.

More flowers abounding., The daffys are done. The ones with the log [urp;e stems that blast open with a popcorn looking flower is about to do so.Plants n treees here are about a month ahead. The one lil frezzy night killed off the lilac blooma juat t the wrong time. Funny, my neighbors did ok.

Hubby is coming along. Haveing the home health nurse and PT 2 x a week is helping. I dont know if we we offere it before and we just said no.

DH... I stayed away as I am not feeling well and did not want to pass or pick up any thing. DH sounded pretty out of it. So I called the nurse and she said he recently had some thing for pain.

Our cherry blossom trees have popped and gone. Stuff is about 6 - 7 weeks ahead of schedule here.

Thanks for your good wishes for Mr kat, He is still in Icu. They have him in isolation and limited visitors. He is weak and tired. They are trying some thing new rather the prednisone that reaally kicked the crap out of his eyes.
Shop called and Ydd wedding dress is in and heading out to her. She has lined up a seamstress. ( of course, have to have shoes first, before a fitting)

For those of you so inclined..... good thought, wishes and prayers for the DH / He is back in the hospital again. Called the paramedics when I could not get his 02 level over 60/ That nasty pneunmonia strain hit him again.

Hi all..... 72 and lovely here. The garden has exploded with more daffodils. My garden gal planted them by date to bloom. I will try and have hubby make a link, what was the name of that place again.?
No rose budd yet,,,,but alot of growth. The service berry trees did well and now fruit is growing there for the birds.
Pat, put up the HUMMINGBIRD feeder as soon as I showed him the map. None have stopped by yet.
Pat has had his eye sight reduced . The meds jolted growth in his cataracts. First surgery next week.

Diane... Happy Birthday a lil late.

Expected a freeze last night so I cut more than half the flowers allready bloomed and brought them in. Now have four vases around of several kinds of daffodills, tulips and hyasinth. My big batch of pink fancy tulips have buds ... so I hope it does not freeze tonight. Might have the other half put them in a photo bucket so those who want can look at them.

dgs Jake went to NYC today to present some thing to some group. I ll have to find it and see if I can post it. Alot of it is info most of you know allready. Having a bit of communication gap with ds and ddil.

HI all... enjoying unsually nice weather here,,, 70s all week they say. All the miniature daffodills have opened. ( the inner cup size is about size of a quarter).
The dh is doing much better but the predisnone ( sp?) is kicking his butt.
We did the grcoery store yesterday with his lil oxygen tank and no problems. Infact, no times of hard hacking cough.
Maybe I can start listing today,

Hi all.... robin watch kinda went kaput when Kym moved to Texas. We always had it when we lived in closer locals. In fact, I saw two herdy and fluffy ones right out the front windy from me.
Originally, robin watch started when Kym was a lil girl and I was in the hospital . When I came home she ran to me and said ' mommy, the robins came while you were gone" Sinec then we always touched base to hearald the fact I was not away from her / home, when the robins came.

Strolled the chilly yard and gosh I hope we dont get a big blast like a could years ago, when half the stuff was up and ' kaput' a freeze streak came thru. well, lets just say the results were not the expected ones. we had more blubs put in so we thing it is around 950. ( I am not kidding)>
