• @judye --- I have fallen below those sales guide lines but thus far have not had my TRS removed.

  • I just started a new book today " A Court Affair" a historical fiction about Queen Elizabeth I by Emily Purdy. My first book by that author but I bounce from author to author. I think I'm really going to enjoy it.
@judye ---- Seems to me that we store customers often do not get a fair shake on ebay.

  • @judye ~ Jude I stand corrected by DH. Although Swifty does have two personal servers in Albany, he has not yet transferred the data to those. The one that we are on and other clients of his is located in the Financial District of NYC. He was very disappointed when they went down. The diesel or whatever is located in the basement and that was flooded and caused the disruption of service. DH said that he has had those other two servers in Albany for nearly a year but just hasn't gotten around to transferring everything. DH thinks this might give him a push to do it now. I was confused about the servers being down because flooding in Albany but thought maybe the building was near a river or something. Not that my being incorrect about where his current active servers really matters but just wanted to clear that up.

@stamphick ~ David Oh my. Please tell Karen that prayers are being sent her way. Violent thunderstorms are bad enough, but militias fighting nearby by is downright scary and horrible. Many, many prayers for her.

  • Good Afternoon from another overcast day in Penn's Woods. The weekend is to be pleasant however!

Update on Swifty: Yesterday afternoon he called and said that he was packing a few things and going to Brooklyn to stay with a friend. I think the 'adventure' of no lights has worn thin. On Friday he is to fly out to San Diego for a long weekend visiting a friend who is in his third year of law school there. By the time he gets back maybe his building will have electric again. His company sent out emails today to all their customers telling them that although the offices were closed that orders could still be taken and processed. Also said they had people working from their homes so that if they had questions and wanted to email or call, that was possible.

DH's brother, who lives outside of Boston, called and said that a tree came down in the yard of his housemate (ex-SO) and crushed her car. If it had happened 25 minutes later he would have been home from work and both of their cars would have been crushed.

@clementine30 ~ Paula Correct. Swifty is in the Old Cotton Exchange Building. No water got into the lobby etc. The water only reached to 1/2 block from his building, right before edge of the small British Memorial Garden in front of his building. He said that garden has never washed away in any flooding. He also mentioned that even if waters got to t he sidewalk in from of his building it would still have about 8 steps outside to get into the building and then another 8 steps up before getting into the lobby. Across the side street is the India House which was the even older Cotton Exchange House. Upstairs (main level) is now a fancy restaurant and downstairs (basement level with windows) is Harry's Bar. For whatever reason, I had heard of that place and have wanted to go but we were always there on a Sunday when it was closed. I guess it is quite pricey so don't want to go when DH has been working all day in the apt. From what Swifty said, the residents in his building were all concerned about Harry's Bar getting flooded. I suspect it did.

@treasuremomz Sam Yes, it is good to get out and met 'live people.'! LOL The first company that Swifty worked for was very small - 12 male geeks and 1 female office manager. He wanted to start out with a very small company and his plan was then to move on in 2 or so years. He was ready to get out and I am glad he is now with a mid-size company that is much more diverse in all ways. Better opportunity to meet more people. One of the great things is that the founders of the company were he is now want their employees to have fun as long as the work gets done. Less of the slavedriven enviroment that he was in before. However he made out like a bandit when that company was bought out!

@judye ~ Jude My son's personal servers were located in Albany but the company he works for has them in NYC. His personal servers are back up and running as of early this morning. Not only had pixs in my descriptions but I had forgotten about our direct email. It appears that all the ones that were sent yesterday are GWTW. However, the local TV news emails that I receive morning and afternoon updates hasn't sent out anything since the 29th so I am guessing that whereever their servers are located are not able to send them.

@stamphick ~ David Thanks for the update on your DD. Please do try to remember to do one now and then. I think that I am not the only one interested in hearing about her trip to the Congo. hahah that is so typical you to say that about her at the coffee shop and it not looking primitive to you!

  • @judye Jude, Thank you. I shall place that in a safe place in case this problem comes up again. I had had a folder with that URL and other important stuff. But that folder was not transferred to my new computer.
Actually the youngest DD just spent 2 hours completing the up date on BookTrakker that was requires because Amazon was to cease to use the former method of uploading on Oct. 15 . Now to enter a couple of new titles and test to see if those listing are/were accepted.

And hopefully find a time later today to contact Amazon to find out why the notifiaction of sales is not been being sent to me.

Maybe some of you will get a little chuckle from this.
My DGS , the DGS who built my current computer , and two of his friends are in the process of attempting a business adventure. They are to build a webb site where one can go to get in touch with a computer tech whwill make house calls. They were in need of $100 capital to get this business started. DD thought a $33. investment would be worth while.I ask DD if he planned to hire her as a sub-contractor. And how much did she expect to be paid?

  • @9mart23 Irene I have not gotten back to etsy to finalize after getting the small deposits to my bank account. Just haven't had the time. Too busy doing eBay listings.

@judye @bethofvt I got an invitation for the 50,000 !!!!!!!! ??????? free listings with free Bins. I put up a couple so I could check the fees. Looks O.K.
Shot off a note to my North Carolina granddaughter to ask if she got one. She will be at work so I probably won't hear back from her until lunch time or late today.

  • @judye How did out test it? And BINs are the same as Fixed Price aren't they? Just want to be sure as Auctiva shows only BINs
    Thanks, Helen

  • @lookwhatbobfound Bogb, Thanks for all of your help and suggestions. With the help of my DGD we got 8-9 items up on etsy. We made the international shipping cost very high as we were confused about setting that cost. .

@aegbooks Yes, We are still selling on Tom Folio, Amazon, abebooks, alibris and one or two other sites. Sales are not great but we do ship about 20 books each week.

@judye Jude, We, my DGD and I, decided to put on etsy only . Nothing on etsy will go either in my eBay store or on eBay auction. Never the same item on more than one venue. Later we might try moving it to esty after it has failed to sell as an auction item on eBay.

  • @judye ---- Good advice on needing 50 items in your eBay store. I had recalled that 'baltimore and more' had suggested a minimum number.
I'll be putting my store up soon. I had taken it down on July 1.
etsy sellers --- Do you list the same things and at the same time the items that you have on eBay either in your store or on auction?
