@lookwhatbobfound Bob-- I print all of my addresses through PayPal and even Media Mail has delivery confirmation added at no charge. I have to have DC for my MM sales through Amazon.

Good morning everybody. Looks like a bright sunny day is in store for us here in Indy --- probably hot, too.
@lookwhatbobfound Bob, just found and bought the Activeon salve on ebay. Hope it will give my DH some relief from his back pains. -

@lookwhatbobfound Bob. Unless the shades are really special don't ever mention them.

@lookwhatbobfound Bob , Thanks for your response. I have never been in the 'Report a Buyer' mode. I 'm not about to start that now.
I'll try your suggestion about calling. -

Good morning Book Boarde friends,
Up a bit earlier but did some kitchen chores and fixed my hot chocolate and breakfast snacks. DH probably will do either sausage and gravy or sausage and eggs when he gets up. By then I'll be ready for S&???.
I owe @lookwhatbobfound a thank you for suggestng keeping Christmas items available in my store all year round. Most of my Christmas items are hand made primitive type items but I had a couple of Lefton pieces. One of them sold this morning. Thanks Bob.
I looked back and it was June @dupo who had mentioned the 700 items in her store. I think she now has between 500 and 600.
Now to get down to my drink and snacks. -

@lookwhatbobfound ~ Yes, I know it is our server. I guess I didn't make myself clear that our pixs are on Swifty's server when I said: Swifty then informed me that the subasement where his server is located in Albany is underwater and that is why we had no pixs
-
Well our photos are no longer showing on ebay. The gallery pix (the one at the top of the page) still show, but the ones in the main body of our description are down. At first I thought it was because two the listings were very old and that something was amiss. Swifty then informed me that the subasement where his server is located in Albany is underwater and that is why we had no pixs. Sounds like a reason for me to call it a day off! LOL Not really I could still write descriptions and DH could upload and have lots ready to go when things get back to normal.
The photos of snow in Virginia and West Virginia are something, esp for this time of the year. From what I understand a cold front moved in from the west and met up with the rains turning the rain into snow. Then the low pressure system that moved in wrapped itself around the hurricane. Name has been changed from hurricane to cyclone!
@bethofvt ~ Congratulations on your roll-over! Found out that some of those power company trucks might have been for PA. The ones crossing the state line into NJ were obviously going elsewhere, but the ones I saw closer to home could have been headed to Phila or Allentown. Later I heard our governor announce that crews were being sent from other states to help in PA. Just locally we have a lot of downed lines - mostly the result of trees falling on them.
@treasuremom ~ I remember that! Lots of babies born 9 months later! Glad to hear about how great your nephew was treated. It is esp. a tribute to New Yorkers who always get such a bad rap. A crisis seems to bring out either the best or worst in people. Wow, never thought about the key cards or not being allowed into the hotel. I hope this time around hotels would learned from history and have printed out hardcopy so that they could verify at the door that you had a reservation there. At least that way they could be in the lobby and if a larger hotel the bar and restaurant and meeting rooms. As I mentioned earlier, Swifty knows a lot more people from his floor and in his building now since they all gathered in the lobby. As far as a party atmosphere, Swifty said that all of his friends were posting on facebook that they were going out to get hurricane supplies - at the liquor store!
@mysteryhorse & @justmim ~ Thanks, very much appreciated. Never know if one is talking to the wind or not. I know I am not good at commenting on each and every post but I do try to acknowledge people in a positive way when I have time.
mysteryhorse The waves on Lake Michigan were huge. I couldn't believe it when I saw people out surfing!
@collectibles4utwo ~ A belated Happy Birthday!
@bookbase ~ I was thinking of your cottage too, but then I remembered what you said last year and seeing the pixs. Yeah, trees falling are the biggest concern. hahaha re: Seems funny to see my name mentioned so often and the good thing is that those posts carry nice thoughts and words! 😉 Wouldn't want it the opposite way!
@salmegal ~ So nice to hear from you! Thanks for the update. Wish you would stop in more often.
@stamphick ~ Wow, had not heard that one. Can't wait to tell DH and Swifty or are you pulling our collective legs? Have you heard from you DD? I forget the timetable. Is she on her great adventure?
@lookwhatbobfound ~ Sorry to hear about your nephew, wife and the baby! Hopefully they can get to a shelter.
@dianecox ~ I know how much you enjoy opera and thought you would be interested to know that my younger son in Vancouver went to see his first opera this past Sunday. I am looking forward to chatting with him next week to see what he thought. He lives 3 blocks from the Arts Center so thought he would give opera a try. He was going to see La Boheme. When I asked him if he knew what it was about or had he looked it up so that he knew, he replied, " 'Rent' is based on it, so yes I have an idea of what it is about."
Oh @dolores1953 that is so sweet of you to say!

@dianecox Sometimes attempting to force 'suck-it-up' works. Sometimes it doesn't. DH seems oblivious to the thought that laundry needs to be done so I did mine laundry yesterday but left his. We'll see if he sucks it up and does his own before I cave and do it for him.
@lookwhatbobfound Bob , Thanks. I'll follow your advice about the reversal of payment. After doing a little googling about it I think maybe either her bank or credit card rejected the payment. It probably was an automatic response that PayPal sends to all recipients who had payment reversals as there was string of 5-6 other email addresses along with mine.

@grano9 Patsy, If not belly bands or binders then what are they called? I used home made bands for our eldest DD born in 1951.I was a pretty dumb young mother but my mom convinced me that we needed to protect the stump of the umbilical cord until it dried up and fell off. Don't really remember about the other 3 children.
@lookwhatbobfound Bob, like Dupo , this dates us but DH and I were well along in our voting cycles when we went to a McGovern rally. When DH's all Republican Board found out that we had gone to that rally they were pretty unhappy with him and they never got past that unhappiness. Many years later we went to George H. W. Bush rally but DH was employed by a different cooperative by then. An acquaintance of ours had been a secretary for Bush while he was in China. And BTW I have voted in every election since I became age eligible to vote.

@grano9 ebay must be hiccuping as when I click on your URL I get This content is currently unavailable. Don't know why but I've always like looking in old cemeteries. Maybe because some of my earliest memories are of seeing my mom enjoy visiting with her childhood friends when we went to 'decoration day' at the cemetery in the neighborhood where she grew up.
@lookwhatbobfound and thanks Bob. I'll check the pottery board.

@lookwhatbobfound Bob thank you. Got that done. One would think that after 10 years of spending so much time on these computers that i would think of that.

Thanks June @dupo and Bob @lookwhatbobfound for your comments . I really like my ebay store. I took it down over the summer months but think I will not do that again.
But Bob if I tried your strategy of auction then put in the store I would for sure and certain get the listings confused. I think I had best stick with the old adage of Keep It Simple Stupid -

@lookwhatbobfound Bob, The best haul of books I ever got was when one of my friends saw the employees of a storage rental facility dump a big lot of books into a dumpster. He got as many as he could load into his already loaded vehicle that day. Then he went back the next morning and got the rest of the books.
He called me to come look at them. He knew they came from the estate of some important Indiana person. Turned out it was a former Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice, Curtis G. Shake, who was a book collector himself. My friend and I agreed that I should pay him $3 a book and a certain percentage of any book that sold for over $20. At one time I took him a check for $1000.
I put the name of the Chief Justice in keywords on my database of all of those book .
Later I became acquainted with a relative of the judge. I gave him some of the more personal papers that came with the books. One item which I have him was a photograph scrap book that had been presented to the judge when he and his wife did an official good will tour of Japan. I thought about trying to sell that but just never could bring myself to do that.
One of the best pieces was the judges hand written first day book. That went to the University of Vincennes where the library is named for for the judge.
The just retired Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice called one day to ask if he could come look at the books. He came, he spent--- over $500. . -

@lookwhatbobfound Bob, there is promotion for free 7 day auction with a BIN for non store owners. Apparently not every body got an invitation. At lease my DGD did not get an invite.

@lookwhatbobfound Bob, I am glad that you had an opportunity to give that rep some good information about mail delivery. I have ordered only one book in this past month. It was 9 days from shipping time to delivery time. Think what it is going to be during the holiday season.
@9mart23 Irene , I do plan to reopen my store on September 1. I gave myself a lecture last evening about doing more listings which will eventually go in my store rather than chasing after these free listings . -

@lookwhatbobfound Bogb, Thanks for all of your help and suggestions. With the help of my DGD we got 8-9 items up on etsy. We made the international shipping cost very high as we were confused about setting that cost. .
@aegbooks Yes, We are still selling on Tom Folio, Amazon, abebooks, alibris and one or two other sites. Sales are not great but we do ship about 20 books each week.
@judye Jude, We, my DGD and I, decided to put on etsy only . Nothing on etsy will go either in my eBay store or on eBay auction. Never the same item on more than one venue. Later we might try moving it to esty after it has failed to sell as an auction item on eBay.
