• @dianecox Diane , Did your alligator leave on his own? Or did your guys move him to another place?
Here in Indy we had 24-48 hours of overcast skies but sunshine since mid-afternoon.

  • @breezy150 Gail, The 'don't make trouble' boy is fine. His latest is while he was being baby set by his GP he was pushing his toy lawn mower over some grass his GP ask if he was going to mow the whole lawn the boy came back with " Well you could help."
@dianecox Diane, I'm not sure that I could handle the situation that you are in with your sister. My prayers go out to both of you and your families.

  • Sunny day here in Indy. I got some pics done earlier this morning.
@dianecox --- Diane, Seems that you are having to deal with a lot of issues all at once. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.

  • I might add to the message posted by my DD, Sarah, that the yard and driveway had that yellow tape -- DANGER CONSTRUCTION WORK IN PROGRESS-- strung all around.
@dianecox _ Glad things are going well for your household today.

  • @dianecox Diane , Do you use dried black eyed peas? I always try to find the canned from fresh peas. I especially like those that are canned at Bush canning factories at or near Springdale.

  • @dianecox Diane, Probably the lamps that I have placed in the mall were just to modern. I have this set of lamps up now. Looks like I need to do a picture that shows both lamps. Will try to that tomorrow. It is always something.

  • @dianecox Diane, My condolence . Sorry that you feel so badly about not going to see her. Don't punish yourself to much as you have had problems of your own.
We learned through Facebook of the loss of an old family friend just last week. I was so pleased when two of my nephews drove quite a distance to attend his funeral. Had calls from them earlier in the week asking questions about who was who as they were reading names on the stones at the family cemeteries.

  • @bookdelle -----Caorl & @dianecox --- Diane , Wishing both of you successful surgeries and painless ( I wish) after surgery days.
Paula , I've been watching your wlld cat, too. Nice to have that happening. Should buy a lot of Christmas gifts. I wish the other boards would share their successes but they seldom do so.

  • @dianecox Diane, And 60-70 years ago a loaf of bread-- not Wonder but a product of Harris Bakery in Rogers, Arkansas was 10 cents a loaf. Sort of home delivered, too. I can remember that the bread truck went right by our house . We used to flag the driver down and buy bread right off the truck.
Another little wrinkle on the person who made the offer and then bought it at full price. I have another one just like it. Sort of hate to put t up but I must.

  • @dianecox Diand, It appears that everyone is so sick of the election that I might get a negative feedback if I used those campaign things for stiffeners. LOL
Just finished taking a batch of pictures of Christmas stuff. Have the ads written . No to get the pics ready to go in the ads.
DH is obsessing because he got an email receipt from K-Mart for a charge on a charge card with the last 4 digits being numbers for a card which neither of us has. Now to ponder that for a while.

  • @dianecox My youngest DD turned 50 this year. She was not very happy about it either.

  • @dianecox A 53 year old daughter !!!! My eldest DD is 61.
I've done my share of 'doing nothing' for the past 2-3 days. I wanted to take pictures today but the sun has peeped out only a few times.
I did make a bananaless banana pudding. I had only the pudding and the vanilla cookies. Keep hearing that song " Yes, we have no bananas. We have no bananas today." I think it was a Carmen Miranda song.

  • Well our photos are no longer showing on ebay. The gallery pix (the one at the top of the page) still show, but the ones in the main body of our description are down. At first I thought it was because two the listings were very old and that something was amiss. Swifty then informed me that the subasement where his server is located in Albany is underwater and that is why we had no pixs. Sounds like a reason for me to call it a day off! LOL Not really I could still write descriptions and DH could upload and have lots ready to go when things get back to normal.

The photos of snow in Virginia and West Virginia are something, esp for this time of the year. From what I understand a cold front moved in from the west and met up with the rains turning the rain into snow. Then the low pressure system that moved in wrapped itself around the hurricane. Name has been changed from hurricane to cyclone!

@bethofvt ~ Congratulations on your roll-over! Found out that some of those power company trucks might have been for PA. The ones crossing the state line into NJ were obviously going elsewhere, but the ones I saw closer to home could have been headed to Phila or Allentown. Later I heard our governor announce that crews were being sent from other states to help in PA. Just locally we have a lot of downed lines - mostly the result of trees falling on them.

@treasuremom ~ I remember that! Lots of babies born 9 months later! Glad to hear about how great your nephew was treated. It is esp. a tribute to New Yorkers who always get such a bad rap. A crisis seems to bring out either the best or worst in people. Wow, never thought about the key cards or not being allowed into the hotel. I hope this time around hotels would learned from history and have printed out hardcopy so that they could verify at the door that you had a reservation there. At least that way they could be in the lobby and if a larger hotel the bar and restaurant and meeting rooms. As I mentioned earlier, Swifty knows a lot more people from his floor and in his building now since they all gathered in the lobby. As far as a party atmosphere, Swifty said that all of his friends were posting on facebook that they were going out to get hurricane supplies - at the liquor store!

@mysteryhorse & @justmim ~ Thanks, very much appreciated. Never know if one is talking to the wind or not. I know I am not good at commenting on each and every post but I do try to acknowledge people in a positive way when I have time.

mysteryhorse The waves on Lake Michigan were huge. I couldn't believe it when I saw people out surfing!

    @collectibles4utwo ~ A belated Happy Birthday!

@bookbase ~ I was thinking of your cottage too, but then I remembered what you said last year and seeing the pixs. Yeah, trees falling are the biggest concern. hahaha re: Seems funny to see my name mentioned so often and the good thing is that those posts carry nice thoughts and words! 😉 Wouldn't want it the opposite way!

@salmegal ~ So nice to hear from you! Thanks for the update. Wish you would stop in more often.

@stamphick ~ Wow, had not heard that one. Can't wait to tell DH and Swifty or are you pulling our collective legs? Have you heard from you DD? I forget the timetable. Is she on her great adventure?

@lookwhatbobfound ~ Sorry to hear about your nephew, wife and the baby! Hopefully they can get to a shelter.

@dianecox ~ I know how much you enjoy opera and thought you would be interested to know that my younger son in Vancouver went to see his first opera this past Sunday. I am looking forward to chatting with him next week to see what he thought. He lives 3 blocks from the Arts Center so thought he would give opera a try. He was going to see La Boheme. When I asked him if he knew what it was about or had he looked it up so that he knew, he replied, " 'Rent' is based on it, so yes I have an idea of what it is about."

Oh @dolores1953 that is so sweet of you to say!

  • @dianecox Sometimes attempting to force 'suck-it-up' works. Sometimes it doesn't. DH seems oblivious to the thought that laundry needs to be done so I did mine laundry yesterday but left his. We'll see if he sucks it up and does his own before I cave and do it for him.

@lookwhatbobfound Bob , Thanks. I'll follow your advice about the reversal of payment. After doing a little googling about it I think maybe either her bank or credit card rejected the payment. It probably was an automatic response that PayPal sends to all recipients who had payment reversals as there was string of 5-6 other email addresses along with mine.

  • @dianecox Diane, Will be thinking about you as you prepare for the knee surgery. Wish there was someone who could take care of some of the driving for a while.
I have been steadily working on getting all the stuff listed that I have that might be used for food preparation or dining during these next week . Have sold 2- 3 things. And sold all of my stove top Corning Ware to my DDs neighbor who has a new glass top range. Nice to the income and some space on those shelves.

  • @dianecox Diane, You missed. Looks like the Detroit Tigers will be face Cardinals or the Giants in the World Series. Wish that other contest that is going on could be settled with entertainment as interesting as a base ball game.
I did read the account of the Bruce Springsteen Ohio concert. Got a couple of chuckles from that. The Boss still has what it takes.

  • @dianecox Diane , True enough I sometimes let the setting wander off a bit but usually recognize that after one or two shots. I use the one that says " For general picture taking with access to all capture settings."
@mysteryhorse Frustrating it is and even more so because I think you have to pay the FVFs on a transaction.

  • @dianecox Diane, What is Yvonne's seller name on ebay? Please and thank you.
    Helen in Indy

  • @dianecox Diane, After Tuesday I'll get a little card shower organized . Need your sisters name and address. Maybe ask those who want to participate to contact me directly at my email address to get her address. indybooklady@sbcglobal.net

  • @treasuremomz --Sam & @dianecox I apologize for breaking into your conversation with the Auctiva reminder. I did not look at the date and thought it was a continuation of the conversation from yesterday.
But, yes, Diane I too think that your sister should be seeking help for her depression or assurance from the doctor that she is doing well. Thinking of you cards maybe be old fashion but we could give her a card shower.

  • Good evening BBers,

We went to Staples for price comparisons for ink cartridges and a USB cord for my new Kodak printer / scanner. I would prefer supporting our local businesses but at the price difference between eBay and Staples I decided to order what I needed through eBay.

@dianecox --- Diane may I do just a bit of politics? Don't know where I read it and not at all sure of the particulars but I believe Staples was one of Romney's early adventures into financing. We have both a Staples and an Office Depot in north east Indy . Staples happens to be more convenient for me.

With my recent dental work I am still on a semi-liquid diet so I had potato with bacon soup for lunch and dinner. Dessert is chocolate chip cookies softened in milk.

  • Good morning, BBers,
Have been busy, busy, busy. I’m up and ’attem’ this morning after a day of being under DH’s nursing care for 24 hours because of some major dental work. I now have new full upper plate and a fairly new partial lower plate. Now DH has to pursue the next step— X-Rays— of his foot care.

    @dainisjg Jim,, Pictures ! Pictures ! Pictures !

@9mart23 , Irene, Does etsy allow more than one picture? If not it seems to me that it is going to very difficult to sell clothing there. I'm going to be taking my etsy account down. I just do not to not have the time to work on etsy, my eBay store and my book database.

@dianecox , Diane, I have been fortunate in that I have made 3 European trips. Once on 40th wedding anniversary when our children chipped in to have eldest DD make all the arrangements and take me to France and the UK. On that trip we did get over into the far northwest of Italy. Then some 10-12 years later "good old eBay "sales provided the funds for 2 Italy / Southern France trips with a garden tour group. I found both Southern France and Italy beautiful and interesting .

  • @dianecox I have your sister on my favorite seller list . She does some interesting and beautiful things. I have a Santa of that type. I wonder where it is?

  • @dianecox Diane---- The advantage to this promotion is a free BIN along with no insertion fee. Now I'm going to go check my fees to be absolutely sure that I am right about the fee BIN.

  • @justmim Mim, So glad to see you posting . And sorry about your DH. Have to take exceptional care of him. And I know that you will. We had our first peaches yesterday. There are not as many as last year but the peaches that there are the nicest that we have ever had.

Sort of an odd thing about the peach trees this year. DH noted when we had that late freeze that only the fruit on the very top of the trees fell off. We are guessing that since it was a very still night the ground heat kept the freeze 10-12 feet above the ground.

@dianecox ---Diane, Hope you find some time for yourself as that is so necessary for all of us. You and your sister have certainly had your plates full for quite some time now.

@grano9 Patsy, I've been watching your reports on toe problems. I finally got the nasty looking nail on one of my big toes to come off by soaking it Epsom Salts water. It was raw for a week or so but did not get infected. It is still a bit tender and I still cannot really see the new nail coming in but the skin is solid so think it is going to be fine. It has plenty of protection as I wear socks 24/7 and always a solid shoe.

  • @dianecox I thought I would get the Japanese books ready to go 'up' tonight but got side tracked. Next week will do. I'll get lots of pictures of covers and spines so maybe somebody can read the titles. Intend to ask 'lookers' to email me with titles or other information.

  • @dianecox The books are all boxed. The wrappers on the boxes are a bit tattered and the boxes show wear but the books inside the boxes are still in the clear plastic. They must be fiction though.

  • @dainisjg , Jim- I, too, laughed a lot at your comments about getting a good picture and life with your wife. Of course I have always enjoyed your posts.

@mysteryhorse And loved your posts about buying part interest in a race horse. And your picture. I assume that the horse in the picture is part yours. How many hands high are you?

Many years ago my brother fell into a deal where he bought a race horse. If I recall correctly the horses name was Dick Nashipur. The horse won the race and my brother immediately sold him. But somewhere in our family there is a picture of my brother holding the reins of said horse. I think that he bought his wife a fur piece with part of the winnings.

I have a couple of high school annuals. Have been trying to find Seth Poppel to verify if there are any famous persons in these annuals. I sent an email to his aol.com address but have had no response. In other inquiries he has responded very quickly. Any information on how I could find him.? I did Google.

@dianecox I have been really troubled about your sister's health problems. I think that I was not around when you first mentioned her illness . But have gathered from more recent comments that she had brain surgery.
